Welcome aboard! As you work on completing the registration, bus, records release, and health forms, please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you would like to take another walk-through of the school, and/ or if you have questions or concerns.
Below I've listed some common items of interest for new families to Bishop McHugh!
- Mentor Program: We can link you with a current school family (or families) at any time. Mentor families help answer questions, and ease concerns. If interested in being assigned a mentor family by the administration or via our parent organization (PATH), please reach out to the Principal at (609) 624-1900 ext. 2.
- Principal as Your Advisor: You can reach out to the Principal at (609) 624-1900 ext. 2 at any time.
- School Uniforms: You may stop by the uniform exchange during office hours (Monday - Friday). Summer office hours begin at 9 am - 2 pm. During the school year, our main office hours are 7 am - 5:30 pm. Call in advance as hours are subject to changes. All uniform exchange uniforms are gently-used, and free and are available at Bishop McHugh School. New uniforms can be purchased at any time via our school website: Flynn and O'Hara or Lands End. For convenience, click here for the uniform requirements. Please note, PreK students are not required to wear a formal uniform at this time, although the gym uniform can be purchased for PreK students.
- Health Office Requirements: As you schedule doctor's appointments in preparation for September, please note that the following will be required by September or upon enrollment: (1) an up-to-date copy of the child's immunizations; (2) a copy of the most recent physical (well visit); and (3) for children under five years, documentation of the annual flu vaccine in the Fall, prior to Dec. 31. This is a state immunization requirement and so your cooperation is appreciated. Thank you!
- FACTS Tuition Management Account: In preparation for the school year, all families will need to set up a FACTS Tuition Management Account. This is also the place where you can apply for tuition assistance. Once your account is created, click on the link to the Grant & Aid Application. Please upload all of the requested paperwork to avoid unnecessary delays. Tuition assistance is awarded to families in need (on a first come, first served basis). We are limited in the amount of tuition assistance we can provide, so if you are interested in applying, please do not wait!
- Back to School Events: Stay attuned to our school calendar regarding PreK Parent Night and K-8 New Student Round Up (which usually occur toward the end of August), along with information about the first day of school!!
- School Hours: Drop-off begins at 7:30 am. A full day of school is from 7:55 am-2:30 pm for K-8, and from 7:55 am-2:15 pm for the preschool classes.
- Extended Hours: On most days we offer Before Care from 7:00-7:30 am, and After Care from 2:30-5:30 pm. Fees apply for these programs.
