All classes include Faith Formation - learning hymns, responsorial psalms, and liturgical music to encourage active participation in our school Masses and Prayer Services. Students in Grades 3 - 8 serve as Cantors for Masses and Prayer Services.
Pre-K - "First Steps in Music" Curriculum - focusing on pitch and movement exploration, voice functions, and rhythm skills and concepts.
K, 1, 2, 3 - "First We Sing!" Curriculum - focusing on vocal development, and melody and rhythm skills and concepts using the Kodaly Method.
4, 5, 6, 7, 8 - "Spotlight on Music" Curriculum - focusing on Music Theory and Music History
Piano Lab - Grades 3 through 8
In addition to our Music Curriculum, students also participate in the following:
Annual School-Wide Christmas Program; Catholic Schools Week Show presented by students in Grades K - 3; Spring Musical Review presented by students in Grades 4 - 8
Bishop McHugh Regional Catholic School Choir - Students in Grades 3 - 8.
The Choir performs at local Assisted Living Facilities, area Parishes, and school events. The Choir has been honored to perform the National Anthem at Citizens Bank Park for the Philadelphia Phillies on five separate occasions between 2010 and 2023.
